1964 Porsche 356SC Cabriolet

The 1964 Porsche 356SC Cabriolet marked the pinnacle of Porsche's first production model, representing the final evolution of the legendary 356 line. 6-liter flat-four producing 95 horsepower — along with improved dual Solex carburetors, stronger connecting rods, and four-wheel disc brakes for the first time in the series. A numbers-matching example per its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity (COA), known history starts with long-term Porsche Club of America member Don Barger, who acquired it in 2007 and used it at both his Ohio and Florida homes.

Under his care until 2024, this Porsche benefited from precise servicing by Island Automotive of Florida, including a complete engine and carb rebuild in 2019 costing just over $18,700. Recent mechanical work includes servicing at Porsche Columbus in August 2024 for just over $7,100, entailing an oil change, new Michelin XAS tires, new distributor cap, new rotors, points, and condensers, and a complete rebuild of the front brakes. In March 2025, this Porsche received a professional repaint in its original color of Light Ivory (6404) over a black interior.
