1957 BMW Isetta 300

After the end of World War II, Germany found itself in a major economic crisis that touched all areas of life — even BMW, known at the time for motorcycles, found themselves on the brink of bankruptcy. BMW's answer came in 1954 when they came across the Iso Isetta at the Turin Car Show and acquired the licensing rights. After refining the motor and chassis, production took off in 1955.

The Isetta 300, introduced in 1956, was designed with a 300 cc engine producing 13 horsepower, capable of reaching 53 mph and achieving 78 miles per gallon. 5 feet in length, it was more maneuverable than almost any other vehicle and favored within major cities. Over its eight years in production, 161,728 Isettas were sold, making it one of the most successful one-cylinder cars in the entire world.

This example is an icon in automotive history, restored back to its original appearance and equipped with the fun factory sliding 'ragtop' sunroof.
