1959 Triumph TR3 Roadster

Originally introduced in 1955, the Triumph TR3 was developed as a successor to the TR2, retaining its rugged ladder-frame chassis and lively 1991cc four-cylinder engine while offering more power and refinement. By 1956, the TR3 gained larger SU carburetors raising output to about 95 horsepower, giving it genuine 100-mph performance and making it one of the fastest affordable roadsters of its day. The TR3 quickly earned a reputation as a true driver's car, boasting front disc brakes — an industry first on a production car in its class.

By 1959, the TR3 was offered in updated 'TR3A' form, featuring a wider grille, exterior door handles, and improved weather protection. More than 58,000 TR3As were produced, the majority exported to North America. This example is the recipient of an older comprehensive restoration, finished in classic colors of red over a black interior with white piping.

0-litre inline four-cylinder engine backed by a four-speed manual gearbox desirably upgraded with overdrive. Complete with a black removable soft top and matching side curtains, this little TR3 can be enjoyed in any type of weather.
